Quilts at the Creek 2014

Yes, it’s true! York Heritage Quilter’s Guild and Black Creek Pioneer Village will be bringing you Quilts at the Creek once again next year- August 16th and 17th 2014, to be exact.

If you are a quilter, this is where you will want to be next summer. Enter a quilt, and get free admission to the park. Our show is a feast for the eyes for all quilters, and -bonus!- there are lots of things to see and do that are not quilt-related, so bring your friends and family along.

We are busy planning lots of exciting new events, and here are a few:

New This Year. Download your quilt application, mail it in, and we will send labels to attach to your quilt for the show. Available starting January 2014.

Quilting your Quilt. Are you a dedicated machine quilter? There will be a quilting bee running all weekend, so why not why not give hand quilting a try? You may get hooked!

Trunk Shows. Because you can never see or hear enough about quilts, we are scheduling a number of quilters to talk about their work- what inspires them, favourite tools and techniques, etc- and best of all, open that trunk filled to the brim with quilts and share their work with us. Stay tuned for a list of presenters. Interested in being a presenter? Contact Jane at: ajanecramer@hotmail.com with your details.

Workshops. We are excited about the opportunity to offer you full day workshops on-site. Purchase a workshop package, and we will include a free admission to the park and free parking.  We are working on the details now, so keep checking back!

Quilter’s Gift Shop:  Quilters who participate in the show may sell quilt-related items in our new Quilter’s Gift Shop.  Interested in selling your wares? Contact Jane at: ajanecramer@hotmail.com and we’ll keep you informed of the details as they become available.

In the Loop. There are lots more plans in the works, so sign up for email updates of this blog (click on link to your right), and you will be kept up to date with all the latest plans.

Want to help? We have volunteers with a number of guilds in the GTA and beyond who will be distributing information, postcards, and labels and application forms (when available, beginning January 2014). If you’d like to volunteer to help in some way, email us ajanecramer@hotmail.com. Help us make this show a success again next year!
