It’s getting closer and closer to show time and we’re starting to organize our volunteer chores. There are some changes for this summer – we have shortened the shifts to 2 hours, we’re adding “zone captains” in case of inclement weather and, to be able to sell your quilted goods in our booth, you’ll have to volunteer for at least one shift.
We have these kinds of jobs – hanging and taking quilts down at the beginning and end of each show day, white-gloving and zone captains*, trunk show assistant, selling in the boutique and workshop assistant. We’re also having hand-quilting done again this summer so we’d like some of you hand-quilters to take a seat at the quilting frame and we have had offers of photographing the quilts in past summers and so hope someone or some-two will take this on again.
*Zone captains will be shown at the start of their shift who their helpers are, what area they are responsible for, where the ladders and wagon for their zone are stored, where quilts go after take down, and will supervise and/or assist in take down of quilts.
You can contact Sandra Rocca or Jane Cramer to offer your assistance and don’t forget, volunteers get in to Black Creek for free on the day of their volunteer shift. And now that we’re offering shorter shifts, you’ll have more time to see the show!
As always, we thank you in advance for helping the show continue to be the success that it is.
