Who doesn’t love a good trunk show?
First, Kathy Doughty will be giving a trunk show on Wednesday July 20th at the North York Central Library auditorium from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Tickets are $15-, and must be presented at the door. We have two full days of trunks shows at the quilt show itself, so plan your day around your favourites. These are held in the Town Hall on the village square, and are free. Just get there early if you really want a seat! These trunk shows are approximately 45 minutes each. And don’t worry, the schedule is identical for Saturday and Sunday.
11:30 a.m. Brit Dowson from B.A.T. House
Brit will be talking about using threads to enhance our projects, including the Sue Spargo line, Spagetti 12 weights and finer threads from Mirage and Invisafil.
12:30 p.m. Joanne Harris from Wool Gathering
Joanne will present us with a rug-hooking trunk show and demo. She’ll tell us about dying wool, and show us her beautiful rugs and rug-hooking kits.
1:30 p.m. Sherri Sylvester – “Be Brave and Sew”
Sherri, from Thread Riding Hood, will tell us about her adventures with sewing and blogging and turning into an extrovert. She’ll have fun projects for show and tell.
2:30 p.m. Elaine Theriault takes us on a walk-about
Join Elaine (from “crazyquilteronabike” and Northcott Canada) as she takes us on a tour of this year’s challenge quilts, “Blue by You”, featuring Northcott fabrics. Meet her at the Town Hall doors to start the tour.
3:30 p.m. Celeste Compion – “The Shweshwe Saga – the Bolt and the Beautiful”
Join Celeste, of Meerkat Trading, as she tells us the story behind these fabrics, the history, production and current uses.
