Plans are falling nicely into place, and Q@C is getting closer!
If you are going to be at CreativFestival next weekend, drop by our booth and say hi. We hope to have several sewing machines in our space, and we will be sewing blocks for Quilt Canada’s challenge. And Valerie will be doing a slide show and talking about the evolution of the show in the Discovery Centre both Friday and Saturday 11:30 – 12:30.
Take a workshop: There is a discount on Q@C workshop registrations and trunk shows until the end of April. So book your space with Cheryl Arkison and Tamara Kate now!
Enter a quilt! If you enter a quilt in this show, you are entitled to free admission during the show, and to sell quilt-related items at our marketplace. The postcards we are distributing give one free admission with one paid admission, so bring a gang to enjoy the show! We promise to take good care of your quilts: we hang the quilts every morning, and take them down each evening. And we are speed demons at taking the quilts down if there is even a hint of rain.
Quilt Drop-off/Pick up: Quilts may be dropped off directly at Black Creek Pioneer Village on Friday July 28th, 9 am to 11 am. If you are taking a workshop with Cheryl Wednesday or Thursday, you may bring your quilt(s) at that time. Quilts will be available for pick-up on Sunday July 30th at 6 pm. OR you may drop off your quilt at one of the quilt shops: Ruti’s Needlebed, Sew Sisters, Simcoe Sew and Quilt, Log Cabin Yardage, or Country Clothesline/Fabric Spark. Shop drop-off: July 17 – July 24 2017. Quilt pick-up at the same location as drop-off from Wed August 2 2017. Be sure to check store hours!
Volunteer! Volunteers have free entry to Black Creek on the day of their shift. Shifts will be 2 – 3 hours in length. Keep up with the latest information about the show by subscribing to email updates from our blog: QuiltsAtTheCreek.wordpress.com. If you would like to volunteer during the show, please contact Jane: email@example.com.
Sell your stuff: Anyone who enters a quilt is able to sell quilt-related items in our marketplace. If selling items here, you are required to volunteer in the marketplace Contact Shirley Dawson: firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Stay tuned: Sign up for email notifications. That’s how you will be first to know about some of the invitational quilts you can expect to see at the show. But for now, here is a sneak peek at one of the special quilts, by Colleen Greer from High Prairie, AB and quilted by Ardelle at RoseCityQuilter. I’m sure you can guess this is a Canadian flag quilt, replete with maple leaves, flying geese and more.
